We encourage all couriers to prioritize their safety when delivering on the Skip Network.
As an independent contractor:
- Exercise your discretion on conducting bicycle deliveries in adverse weather conditions. You have the ability to accept or decline orders and drop, end, or pick up shifts at any time.
- Depending on your jurisdiction, you may be legally required to wear a helmet.
- It’s your responsibility to obtain the insurance coverage required by your city or province.
Couriers are required to abide by all laws in their region, which may include any laws relating to the safe operation of a bicycle and required safety gear.
If you’re involved in an accident while offering your courier services, Skip may be able to file an injury report with the Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) on your behalf. Please be aware that Skip has no control over the acceptance of such claims; the decision on whether or not to accept a claim is up to the WCB.
