As a courier on the Skip Network, you have the freedom to customize your schedule and be your own boss.
Here are some scheduling basics to get you started:
Weekly Published Schedule
Courier schedules for upcoming weeks are published every Thursday. The shifts that you will receive will be based on your availability, so you should submit your weekly availability by 11:59 pm on Wednesdays.
A typical shift ranges from three to five hours. Setting your availability doesn’t guarantee that you'll receive shifts for all of your available hours.
Our system automatically balances the number of couriers scheduled with the expected weekly volume of orders.
Nevertheless, you always have the option to pick up open shifts in the Courier App to keep earning on your own terms.
Confirming shifts
You can access your upcoming shifts in the 'My Shifts' tab in the Courier App. For both scheduled and open shifts, it’s best to confirm shifts within 48 hours of the start time.
To confirm your shifts, go to the ‘My Shifts’ tab and tap on the checkmark located on the right of the shift slot. Once prompted, tap on Confirm Shift’. It’s that easy.
As a best practice, check the Courier App regularly to pick up open shifts or confirm existing ones.
Dropping Shifts
You can drop any shift directly in the Courier App. Here’s how:
- Head to the ‘My Shifts’ tab in the app to see your upcoming shifts.
- Tap on the ‘X’ icon located on the right side of each shift block.
- Tap on the ‘Drop Shift’ button.
Shift Extensions
Based on demand, Skip may offer couriers currently on shift the opportunity to extend their shift.
Towards the end of your shift, you may see an option to extend your shift if your delivery zone is busy. To accept the extension, you can tap on your zone and select your end time.
Ending Your Shift
As a courier delivering on the Skip Network, you can end your shift whenever you want. To do so, tap on the three vertical dots located at the top right corner of the app and then press ‘End Shift’.
Accessing Custom Shifts
If you do not have an upcoming shift, change your status from “Offline” to “Available” whenever you are available to take orders. If additional couriers are required, all you have to do is tap on the zone map, pick your start and end time and accept the custom shift.
Didn't Receive Shifts
The courier schedule is determined automatically by our system and is based on anticipated order volume and your availability for the upcoming week. If you didn’t get scheduled for a shift and want to complete deliveries, you can do so by:
- Setting your status to ‘Available’ to be notified when a custom shift becomes available in your zone.
- Checking the open shifts tab for available shifts.
If you are missing shifts that were previously scheduled, it may be because:
You checked in after the pre-scheduled start time or missed a pre-scheduled shift. If you check-in after a shift start time or don’t check-in for a shift, the system will remove any scheduled shifts within 24 hours of that shift.
Your documents are expired. If your documents have expired, your Network access will be disabled and all scheduled shifts will be removed.
Your account hasn’t been activated. You’ll need to activate your account to access the app. Please wait until you are notified that your account has been activated.
